Economy of China and US, a comparison

Share/Save/Bookmark
People's Republic of china has the third largest economy in the world after US and Japan. Japan has ever going economy we all know, the main comparison is between China and United States.

China has ever growing economy since its independence and it reaches there in almost in 60 years. US is super power in the world and have the largest economy in the world but since the last ten years china is improving its economy and the US is doing war against terrorism.

It is the main difference between china and US and China says that it will do nothing except improving economy until 2010.

China is very much committed on it and United States should take care of it....

Bad economic crisis expected in US in 2010

Share/Save/Bookmark
We all Know US is very active part of fight against terrorism. But we all know US economy is badly effected by this. Billions of dollars are being wasted and terrorists are becoming more stronger then they were in past.

acording to neutral media reports US has suffered the historical loss in 2009. The main reason was its fight against terrorism which has nothing to achieve. Us economy is going to be in more trouble if US will stay in Afghanistan anymore.

and 2010 can be the worst year of US economy.

History of Banking in India

Share/Save/Bookmark
The roots of the State Bank of India rest in the first decade of 19th century, when the Bank of Calcutta, later renamed the Bank of Bengal, was established on 2 June 1806. The Bank of Bengal and two other Presidency banks, namely, the Bank of Bombay (incorporated on 15 April 1840) and the Bank of Madras (incorporated on 1 July 1843). All three Presidency banks were incorporated as joint stock companies, and were the result of the royal charters. These three banks received the exclusive right to issue paper currency in 1861 with the Paper Currency Act, a right they retained until the formation of the Reserve Bank of India. The Presidency banks amalgamated on 27 January 1921, and the reorganized banking entity took as its name Imperial Bank of India. The Imperial Bank of India continued to remain a joint stock company.

Pursuant to the provisions of the State Bank of India Act (1955), the Reserve Bank of India, which is India's central bank, acquired a controlling interest in the Imperial Bank of India. On 30 April 1955 the Imperial Bank of India became the State Bank of India. The Govt. of India recently acquired the Reserve Bank of India's stake in SBI so as to remove any conflict of interest because the RBI is the country's banking regulatory authority.

In 1959 the Government passed the State Bank of India (Subsidiary Banks) Act, enabling the State Bank of India to take over eight former State-associated banks as its subsidiaries. On Sept 13, 2008, State Bank of Saurashtra, one of its Associate Banks, merged with State Bank of India.

SBI has acquired local banks in rescues. For instance, in 1985, it acquired Bank of Cochin in Kerala, which had 120 branches. SBI was the acquirer as its affiliate, State Bank of Travancore, already had an extensive network in Kerala.

India's falling economy and poverty increment report

Poverty in India is widespread with the nation estimated to have a third of the world's poor. According to the a 2005 World Bank estimate, 42% of India's falls below the international poverty line of $1.25 a day (PPP, in nominal terms Rs. 21.6 a day in urban areas and Rs 14.3 in rural areas); having reduced from 60% in 1980. According to the criterion used by the Planning Commission of India 27.5% of the population was living below the poverty line in 2004–2005, down from 51.3% in 1977–1978, and 36% in 1993-1994.

Among the causes ascribed for the high level poverty in India are its history under British rule, large population, and low literacy. Also important is India's social structure, including the caste system in India, and the role of women in Indian society. Economic growth has in the past been dampened by a dependence upon agriculture, and the economic policies adopted after its independence.

Since 1950s Indian government and non-governmental organizations have initiated several programs to alleviate poverty, including subsidizing food and other necessities, increased access to loans, improving agricultural techniques and price supports, and promoting education and family planning. These measures have helped eliminate famines, cut absolute poverty levels by more than half, and reduced illiteracy and malnutrition. However, since the mid-1990s 30 million people have been added to the ranks of the hungry and 46% of children are underweight.

Contracts on Forex market within the IFC Markets are performed due to SPOT conditions. A spot transaction is a straightforward (or outright) exchange of one currency for another. The spot rate is the current market price or 'cash' rate. Spot transactions do not require immediate settlement, or payment 'on the spot'. By convention, the settlement date, or value date, is the second business day after the deal date on which the transaction is made by the two parties
